Sandra Francis Paintings

A bright colourful seascape which displays a row of local yachts racing along in the late Summer sunshine. I was inspired to paint this as this view appeared as I was looking down the hill while sitting in the morning sun having a morning coffee. With the tree at the side of the scene it was a perfect subject . It is painted in a loose fashion to create movement with emphasis on the bright coloured yachts and sun on the white sails contrasting with the deep turquoise sea. Near the foreshore the waves are a little green as the water gets a bit shallower. The distant Mainland buildings and distant yachts are indicated with brushstrokes against the pale purple cloud above the horizon.
